Originated as a mutation of 'Washington' navel.

Notes and observations
RRK, 8/2006: Also known as 'Cabanes' navel and 'Pitarch' navel. Originated as a mutation of 'Washington' navel detected in 1957-1977 at Ribera de Cabenes, Castellon de la Plana, Spain. 'Ricalate' is slightly smaller and later than 'Washington' and hangs well until late in the season. According to Luis Navarro, Ricalate has no petiole wing. Some on our trees do, some don't. This selection is under patent in Spain. Ricalate was given to CCPP by AVASA for trial only.
