Notes and observations

An ornamental dwarf citrus. Polyembryonic.

11/12/1986, EMN: W.P. Bitters says this is probably NOT Fuya Menuda

2/8/1988, EMN: Our accession (3787) is probably NOT Fuya Menuda, it is a very large tree, one of the largest in the row. Fruit is a sweet orange but does not appear promising: size is slightly small, slightly rough rind slightly puffy, very seedy, slightly tart now.

" An interesting Spanish variety, apparently originating in the Balearic Islands, Fuya Menuda is highly ornamental because all parts of the plant—tree, leaves, and fruit—are markedly reduced in size. It constitutes the only truly dwarf sweet orange variety known to the writer. "
