Notes and observations

Notes from Dr. Bitters' 1963 trip to Japan: Average size fruit height 6.2 cm, wide 6.4 cm, yellow orange rind, globose, smooth, stem end rounded, smooth, stylar end flat, no areole, rind 4 mm, 25-30 seeds, polyembryonic, leaves very similar to sweet orange. Not a commercial variety--may have rootstock possiblities.

EMN, 2/23/1988: Small to medium sized fruit; round to pyriform. Medium yellow, farily smooth (about like a navel orange) rind. Moderately thick rind; seedy; flesh light orange color, juicy, melting; palatable while slightly tart. Dr. Bitters think this may be a sweet orange hybrid.
