Notes and observations

From T. Tanaka in CITROLOGIA, pg. 49, Univ. Osaka, Japan, 1961: A compact shrub, seeds polyembryonic, susceptible to sunburning, sizes well in Japan. May be a tangor. Notes from W.P. Bitters' trip to Japan, 1963: A sm fr, ht 4-7 cm, wid 5.5 cm, smooth skinned, 1t orange, sl oblate, rind 3 mm thick, 15-20 seeds, appears polyembryonic, lvs similar to orange, sl smaller, flesh tender, somewhat bitter. Not a commercial variety but might be a possible rootstock.
