Notes and observations

This fruit, known as lima doce in Portuguese, is about the size of a lemon, a typical fruit being 2&1/2 inches in diameter. The skin is pale green in color, externally, and slightly less than 1/4 inch in thickness. The core is closed and small; the juice sweet and cloying in flavor. This is a fruit that is highly esteemed by the Bahians. Its flavor is similar to that of the lime, but with less acidity. The seeds number 12. The tree is very productive.
