Photos by David Karp and Toni Siebert, CVC. Photo rights.

Source: Received as seed from the USDA in 1916.

Parentage/origins: Parents unknown.

Rootstocks of accession: Cleopatra mandarin

Season of ripeness at Riverside: Year round

Season of flowering at Riverside: April to July

Notes and observations:

EMN, 1/20/1989: Similar to Nippon orangequat (CRC 3360), ie: Attractive tree with many orange fruits; BUT: fruit is smaller than Nippon orangequat, not as "cute" in shape as Indio mandarinquat (CRC 3759), and flavor is awful, both bitter and sour.
