Hawaiian pummelo

Citrus maxima (Burm.) Merr. RUTACEAE

RRUT 143

Photos by David Karp and Toni Siebert, CVC.10/30/2013. Photo rights.

Source: Received as budwood in 2000.

Parentage/origins: Parents unknown.

Rootstocks of accession: Carrizo citrange, C-35 citrange

Season of ripeness at Riverside: October to November

Notes and observations:

Identity as given on signs at Jensen's Date Garden somewhat questionable, as signs appear in some instances to have been moved. Observed at collection site: pummelo-like, similar to 'Moana Loa'; on trifoliate-leaved rootstock with budunion about 30 in high. Should be planted in field and observed.

Availability: Not commercially available in California.
