Notes and observations

Put in variety collection at request of Mike Roose. Seed grown at Rubidoux (Exp. 1881), both trees from same seedling. Roose #I89-1-9 (Rubidoux Code 1881-1). Nucellar seedling of 'big-leaf' type trifoliate from Institute of Horticulture, Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Changsha, Hunan, PRC. Lot of 60 seeds (collected 12-1988) received by D. Gumpf for M. Roose, 02-29-1989. Selected as nucellar type by M. Roose based upon isozyme data. Budwood from seedling tree I89-1-9 to NCGRCD, 04-1991.
