H-56 tangor

Citrus reticulata Blanco

CRC 3096

PI 539241

Photos by David Karp and Toni Siebert, CVC.10/30/2013.  Photo rights.

Source: Received as budwood from the Citrus Research Center, Riverside, 1957.

Parentage/origins: Willowleaf mandarin x Valencia orange

Rootstocks of accession: Carrizo citrange, C-35 citrange

Season of ripeness at Riverside: October to December

Notes and observations:

Used in Baldwin Park QD rootstock trials. Looks promising as a rootstock.

EMN,1/18/1989: A small, round, orange tangor-- most fruit on ground already at this date. Sweet & juicy, flavor fair to good, but too small and seedy for eating fruit potential.

Availability: Not commercially available in California.
